Just charged through my 3rd assignment and it has been sent – massive sigh of relief! Over the next two days I have to start and complete a corporate social responsibility essay and it’s giving me a headache just thinking about it… wish me luck, because I will need it.

This is not a post to unleash my burden upon my blog, just to inform you why this blog has been lacking the last couple of days, and why over the next few days there might not be any posts.

I am so excited to see the end of this week come, as it is my bestfriend “S” birthday and we are going out and spending the night in a hotel so we don’t have to trek it home – I am looking forward to a massive night where I can finally unleash and dance my cares away!

Once again – apologies for not being regular with my posts. I have 4 assignments due this week, so I couldn’t find time for even a little update for you guys. Needless to say, two of the four are done – where the final two have yet to be started… eep!

Back to the post: this is my third I WANT for The Strip and the second for this month. I just want so much – all of things that I can’t afford (being a full-time student and without a job does not leave me with extra spending money… so I need a job soon!) In the last edition of I WANT I mentioned Jeffrey Campbell Nightwalk platforms – desperate to buy a pair I went down to Tuchuzy in Bondi Beach to find out that they had been sold out, and didn’t know if they were getting anymore in. So I left my number incase they were ordering anymore – honestly, i’m pretty disappointed – it would have been the biggest impulse buy because they are so different, but the weather is beginning to warm and those shoes are too heavy for any of my summer attires. Shame.

I have been eyeing this dress ever since it popped up on www.mycatwalk.com.au – Shakuhachi have designed this amazing daisy crochet dress! It would be the ultimate summer outfit – it’s just so pretty! I also love that the same design comes in a tank and shorts. On the site it is AU$380, which is cheaper comparing to another website I visited. Teamed with tan wedges, nude make-up, soft curls and a nose hoop (to add some edge) would be amazing!
I didn’t get my tragus pierced after long deliberation because i’m wanting to get my nose done during the second week of september.. oddly specific? Yes, well the first weekend I’m going to my dad’s for his birthday, so knowing that I would have to go out to dinner with my nan I don’t want it to look or be sore. Even though I desperately want a hoop because it is just so Abbey Lee Kersaw-esc, I read that a stud is the best during the healing period as it won’t get caught. However as soon as I am able to change it I will switch to the hoop – hopefully by the time Parklife festival comes around it will be fully healed!

Speaking of Parklife – I still need to get both my Parklife and Stereosonic tickets ASAP!! I will not miss it for anything because festival season is my favourite season of the year, haha!

Without style, without my respect.

Every morning I wake up with the same problem: What to wear? This question should be simple but instead it brings forth even more questions like when was the last time I wore this? is it matching? does it look stupid?!

I always take notice of what people are wearing, especially when I really like their style, but never actually look. When I’m saying “look” I mean have observing each piece of clothing, and accessories that have been teamed-up to make the outfit.

Honestly, I love people who have their own unique style no matter how outrageous it may be because it shows charisma and a pride in presentation – but I don’t think I would ever be able to appreciate people without style, who wear whatever-wherever… like there comes a point where people wearing ugg boots and a denim mini to a supermarket should be refused entry just because you are making me literally claw my own eyes out!

I don’t think I am a judging person, well… too much of one anyway – but if you’re into fashion as much as I am next time your around a group of people or out on the street, sit down and REALLY look at what they are wearing because it astounded me to see the amount of items that made me question what on earth possessed them to buy it? Seriously, you will begin to notice every army-pant, cartoon-printed tee and jeans + sneakers collaboration within a 500m radius.

Renovate myself.

My last few posts have been about creating a healthier lifestyle for myself, I really want to put this into full-force and renovate me inside and out. Now is the time to tear out the old habits, sand-down my doughy physique and start from scratch. Working from the ground up I can then; reinforce my lifestlye, polish my appearance, and maintain, maintain, maintain!

As a kick-start motivation if I can make it to Sunday eating super-healthy, exercise and finish my assignments I will get my tragus pierced. I have always wanted it done, and now seems a fitting time to do so 🙂 Then, if I make it to September I will get my nose pierced – don’t judge, two weeks of being a health-freak will be the biggest challenge for a girl who has never had to diet before/may be a self-proclaimed choc-o-holic…

What the hell is gluten?

When I was researching my post about bad carbs, there was a  particular word that kept popping its head up: gluten.  From studying food technology in high school, the only thing I remember about it was that it is found in carbs, that some people are allergic to gluten and that Woolworths has an entire section dedicated to gluten-free products. Celebrities Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham follow a gluten-free lifestyle and their bodies are absolutely banging!

So what the hell is gluten anyway? Gluten is a protein found in the grains wheat, barley, and rye. Most of us unknowingly love it, because gluten gives our favorite foods that special touch: It makes pizza dough stretchy, gives bread its spongy texture, and is used to thicken sauces and soups. Women’s Health blog says that if you have celiac disease (allergic to gluten) or are gluten sensitive then you should switch immediately – otherwise the diet is quote: “a giant pain in the butt.”

The second website I came across was a blog created by a personal trainer and self-proclaimed health-freak. He says to cut out ALL grains and gluten from your diet as it makes you lethargic and keeps you from reaching your potential. He goes on to say that rice and corn products are better alternates for your diet as they do not contain gluten. The PT is fairly strict on not having gains or gluten but says if you train hard enough, you could make an exception. That is a rule that I am going to take from my research: carbs are to be earnt.
